The South England Conference
Women's Ministries Department
We Will Go!
'Many years ago, as a child growing up, I remember my grandmother being part of the Dorcas society in our local church. Every Thursday, weekly, the women came together to distribute food and clothing as these were distributed into the community. There were boxes of foodstuff, freshly baked goods, Christian literature and other books that shared the good news of Salvation. These items, along with prayers for the sick, among other requests, were offered up for those families. The Dorcas society went into the neighbourhood to meet the community's needs as Jesus did many years ago.
Dorcas back then would be known today as Women's Ministries. These women were committed. Many accepted Christ through this methodology.
Women's Ministries could be traced even further back to Bible times in Paul's day, where he commended Phoebe for the work she had been doing in the Ministry of Women in the Early Church, Romans 16:1-2. They supported each other and practically proclaimed the good news of Salvation.
The South England Conference Women's Ministries Department endeavours to do the same in making Christ Known in our communities and beyond.
We exist to reflect the character of Christ while caring for; supporting, nurturing, empowering and equipping the women within the church and beyond.'

- Reach Up -
Help women in their devotional life and personal growth, enabling them to be nurturers in the church and community.
Jacqueline Otokpa was born in the Dutch Caribbean island of Aruba where she was blessed to be nurtured by her grandparents ‘in the fear of the Lord’.
She moved to the Netherlands where she lived for some years pursuing her education in the Social Care Sector. Jacqueline has worked in Prisons, with Refugees and vulnerable children. Through Her love for life and healthy living later took her to Sweden where she was trained in Medical Ministry. She then moved to London where she became a Women’s Ministry Leader and she fostered a passion for hurting women for over 10 years.
During her time in this role, she recognised the deep need of women with psychological issues and she founded an international ministry, called W.H.Y. Women (We Hear You) empowering women to reclaim, recover and restore their lives through Christ. This ministry points to Jesus as the True Healer and Protector, and has taken her to Montenegro and Holland, as well as several venues in England. This has resulted in women re-committing their lives to Jesus and even in baptism. Not one to keep still in one place for long, after graduating from the SEC School of Evangelism, she embarked on and successfully completed a BA (Hons) in Counselling.
Looking around there is a constant daily report of pain and hurt that women face today in their daily lives: domestic violence; abuse; trauma. Sadly, women within our churches are not immune to this.
Jacqueline’s aim as SEC Women’s Director is to help women realise that God intends to break the chains of the bondages of pain and guilt. She says, the Bible declares, the enemy has come to steal, kill, and destroy, but it also states the battle is not ours, it’s the Lord’s, and through Christ, we are more than conquerors.
Jacqueline has been married for 20 years to Jerry. They have three sons who are all happy to work for the Lord in their home, schools and in the community, where they are a constant witness of God’s goodness.
To reflect the character of Christ while Caring for; Supporting, Nurturing, Empowering and Equipping the women of our church and community; through Prayer, Bible Study, Discipleship, Evangelism, Mission, and Fellowship. To empower each woman to work together in unity and love, displaying the fruits of the Holy Spirit, while continuing to establish a closer personal relationship with Christ; having a daily walk with Him, fulfilling their God given purpose, despite the challenges we face in this ever-changing world.
