UK Zambian Adventist Fellowship (UKZAF) is an association of Zambians living in the UK who are Seventh-day Adventists. The fellowship was founded in 2010 and each year has organised regular days of fellowship to bring the Zambian community in the diaspora together and lend ways of support to those who may be lonely, bereaved and more especially create a sense of community and belonging to those who may not have family here in the UK.

The UKZAF women also have devotion and prayer sessions every Tuesday from 8:30pm to 9:30pm via zoom with people tuning in from the USA, Australia, South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Barbados, UK, Ireland and various other European countries. Contact ukzafwomen@gmail.com to join.

However, in January 2019, a group of women from the UKZAF community were inspired to create a platform to enrich, enlighten, encourage and educate women spiritually, mentally, physically and emotionally. It is a safe place that does not discriminate but embraces you for who you are.

Though UKZAF women is organised by Zambians, as the name may indicate, it shows no prejudice towards non-Adventists and the other nationalities. This was reflected during the first event organised by the group titled ‘Unmask the Real Me'. The weekend of 27th-29th September 2019 saw the first ever UKZAF Women's retreat, with an attendance of 62 delegates ranging from 4 to 60+ years old. The attendees travelled from various parts of the UK to the retreat held at the beautiful Devere Horwood Estate, Milton Keynes: with representatives from the Caribbean, East, Central and Southern African.

The women were encouraged to remove or hand over anything that was preventing them from being real with God. It was led by a powerful team of speakers (Pastors Linda Nyamhunga and Sindi Mabena) and covered an array of physical and spiritual activities including swimming, going on walks, prayer sessions, devotions and morning mannas.

Due to the spiritually rewarding success of the first retreat, a second virtual retreat titled, ‘You Are Chosen', was held on the 28th - 30th August 2020. This included practical workshops (finance, self-care, menopause and physical fitness), sermons (lead by Sr Shelly Haangala), music and prayer sessions with various people from around the world.

Currently, there is a series being held for the month of February titled ‘When Purposeful Princesses Pause & Pray’ led by Sr Patrice Williams-Gordon all the way from the gorgeous Island of Barbados.

So with that being said, if there are any women reading this who would like to be spiritually enriched and make a friend or two in the process, please do not hesitate. Join us. Invite a friend and you will surely be blessed.
